Common Questions
What clients usually ask
How much does demolition cost per square foot?
Selective interior demo runs $10β$18/sq ft. Multi-room gut work runs $15β$28/sq ft. Commercial strip-outs run $18β$38/sq ft. Full residential gut runs $22β$48/sq ft. All include debris removal.
Do I need a permit for demolition?
Interior demolition of non-structural elements typically doesn’t need a standalone permit. Structural work and commercial strip-outs may require permit review β we flag this at the walkthrough.
What about asbestos and lead paint?
We flag suspicious materials in pre-1985 construction and recommend abatement testing before scope is finalized. Abatement is a specialist trade β we work around confirmed clearances.
Can you demo part of a home while we're living there?
Yes, with proper containment β dust barriers, floor protection, and disruption planning around daily routines.
Do you handle disposal?
Yes. DRW manages debris disposal. Disposal costs are included in our quote β no surprise bin charges.
